Wise County is gonna follow Lee County and move the kids to the bottom rung. How much cash is a 12 year old gonna have?

I agree, it doesn't help that playing ball in the high school is next to impossible.

That's basically what Coomes Gym over here in Abingdon does. There's kids that play ball for Abingdon right now that had parents that worked until 5 or 6 in the evening, and they'd simply get taken over to the Coomes Center and go play ball in the gym under the supervision of the Center's staff, and now in HS they've got some guys & gals with a lot of time on the court just playing from a younger age on up--the place has 6 different backboards in it that are kept down all the time so you can have a lot of games going on--constant playing. Only drawback is the latest they stay open is 8...at least at Carnes I could have went up there around 9 and played til Midnight.

Coomes is a nice place. And if memory serves, it is only half a mile from the elementary or middle school.

You are correct. And it's walking distance from the HS. It's a multi-purpose facility, they have youth-league bball there, along with adult volleyball leagues...plus add to it that they have a walking track above the gym, a weight room with treadmills, weight machines, and free weights, an Olympic sized swimming pool, and 2 tennis courts for use (for a fee mind you)...it's an awesome place. I just hate it's all the way across town from my office and it takes a good 15-20 minutes to get over there, yet it's still all Abingdon. Traffic sucks. Nope--those are outdoor courts.

Someone told me there are indoor courts on Lee Highway, I never tried to look into it though.

The racquet club in bristol has indoor courts. Its really nice, they have a little area where you can watch a big screen tv in a little plexiglass office and you can look outside the glass and watch everyone on the courts playing tennis. I think they have 6 indoor courts. Im not really sure how to explain how to get there other than its on volunteer parkway on ratheon road. I think its behind a food city or something.
